Hi! I am an aspiring author from Springfield, MO. I have been creating stories for as long as I can remember and have always had a passion for the power of words. Currently, I have a book of poetry that just needs illustrated and formated before it can be published. For more information on my projects, please check out the page labeled ‘Writing’ in the menu. *Q&A – Get to know me!

What is your favorite holiday and why?

My favorite holiday is the fourth of July (independence day) because it also happens to be my wedding anniversary! My husband and I started dating on July 4th in 2015 and we just couldn’t give up the cute anniversary date up. Now we celebrate by inviting our family over, smoking lots of meat, and shooting off fireworks.

Is there a place that makes you feel at ease?

In the arms of my husband, Jacob, when my children are sleeping on my lap, and on the beach watching the waves lap against the shore. The woods have a way of making me inspired, which is peaceful in it’s own way.

Do you judge a book by its cover?

Not always, but yes, sometimes I do! I will buy a book just because I think it’s cover is pretty and will properly delay reading something with a boring cover. I wish I wasn’t this way, but I can’t help it.

What does your writing space look like?

With two kids under two, I can’t be picky about where or when I write. Typically you can find me sitting in front of my laptop at our dinning room table while the kiddos play, on the couch while they watch TV, and in the office when they’re sleeping. If I am unable to break out the laptop, I’ll write pieces in the notes on my phone that I will add to my document later. Whatever I can do to get the words out and into a story.

Who or what inspired you to become an author?

I’ve wanted to write stories for as long as I can remember and it feels as if it’s always been a hobby of mine. There has been many people and stories that have made me want to create and made me believe that I can throughout my life, I wouldn’t have time to dive into them all. However, I can thank my husband and children for giving me the inspiration to be the best version of me. It just so happens the best version of me is someone who writes.

What is one thing that makes you dream?

The stars have always held such significant meaning to me. Looking upon how they shine in the darkest void, holding such wonder, beauty, and mystery, it makes it impossible for to not wish to create.
