The ending of May sneaked its way up on me, so this is obviously late.
This year is flying by waaaay too fast. It’s been a rough year so far, filled with many ups and downs. In terms of reading, this month was a little weak for me, but I got six books in, so it could have been a lot worse.
I started the month of with Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi, a beautiful addition in the Shatter Me series. With each book, this series gets more intense. I absolutely love this series and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in the series, Restore Me.
Next I read The Elite and The One by Kiera Cass. I am not sure why I got the sudden urge to reread the selection series, but I am glad I did. The story line is whimsical, almost grossly romantic, and filled with action. If you ever need a light read and a good distraction, this series is perfect. It is easy to fly through.
My mother recommended 11/22/63 by Stephen King to me awhile ago and I finally decided to check it out. This book was amazing. If you want to hear more, check out my previous blog post HERE.
After that I read A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir. This series is one I put off for a long time. I was told there was a lot of brutal violence and rape so I wasn’t interested. Then my YA book club chose An Ember in the Ashes for their monthly read a while back, and I realized that what I heard previously wasn’t the case. I am really glad I decided to give this series a go. It is phenomenal and I highly recommended it.
Throughout pretty much all of May it seemed, I was also reading Bed and Breakfast and Murder by Patti Larsen. I. Am. So. Glad. To. Be. Done. I plan on posting a review that goes into more detail, so stay tuned.
May was an adventure. I’m glad it’s over.
